Waterless by Venus Razor Review

So, to be completely honest, this was a total impulse buy. I was in line at the grocery store and this nifty little razor was right there, in the check out lane, waiting for me to buy it and take it home with me. Since this is made buy Venus, I assume it can be found anywhere. Heres the link, just in case:  Waterless by Venus Razor*

First Impressions

Missy – I ALWAYS manage to miss a patch of hair on my legs when I shave. As someone with medium skin and very dark hair, it’s super obvious. So something that is small and discreet sounds perfect. Have you ever gone to the pool and in the direct sunlight realized you missed a patch? No? Oh, yeah, me either…

Ruby – I hate shaving my legs. There. I said it. If this little contraption can make it easier I am for it.

Missy – One side applies a water-jelly like shaving gel, the other side is a razor. My first try I pressed down on the applicator the whole time I was putting the shave gel on. This is NOT needed. I ended up with way too much of the product. A quick squeeze to moisten the sponge is plenty. The razor works exactly as you would expect. I used this on my leg and did not get any razor burn.

Ruby – Okay, another confession. I am only 5 feet tall and have super short little T-Rex arms. Reaching my ankles with this short little razor was not easy. I also struggled with how much gel to squeeze out. I was nervous about razor burn so I used a lot of gel. Then I ended up with a ton of build up in the back of the razor and was dripping so I had to clean it. I felt like I might as well have been in the shower.

Missy – So I really love the idea of this thing. And I actually love how it works. But at this time it doesn’t look like the gel is refillable, nor the razor heads replaceable. It seems like it would be very easy to make this just a tad bit more environmentally friendly. If they made these changes, I would have one of these on me at all times this summer.

Ruby – I think this could be helpful in a pinch, but it did still give me razor burn. I don’t hate it but I don’t love it either.
